Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 30 September 2026

Welcome to Buntingford Taxis. These Terms & Conditions govern your use
of our website, online booking services and taxi transportation services.
By using our website or booking a journey with us, you agree to these
terms.

1. About Buntingford Taxis

Buntingford Taxis provides taxi and private-hire transportation services,
including local journeys, airport transfers, business transportation,
regular journeys and other pre-booked transportation services.

2. Booking a Taxi

Bookings can be made through our website or by contacting us directly.

When making a booking, you are responsible for providing accurate
information, including:

  • Your full name and contact details
  • Pickup address
  • Destination address
  • Date and time of travel
  • Number of passengers
  • Luggage requirements
  • Any additional requirements relevant to your journey

We may contact you using the details provided to confirm or clarify your
booking.

A booking is considered confirmed only when Buntingford Taxis has accepted
the booking or provided confirmation.

3. Booking Information

Customers should check all booking details carefully before submitting a
booking.

Buntingford Taxis cannot be held responsible for delays or additional
costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the
customer, including an incorrect pickup address, destination, travel date
or pickup time.

If you need to change your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

4. Prices and Fares

Prices may depend on factors including:

  • Pickup and destination locations
  • Journey distance
  • Vehicle type
  • Number of passengers
  • Luggage requirements
  • Date and time of travel
  • Additional waiting time or special requirements

Where a fixed price has been provided for a particular journey, that price
will normally apply to the agreed journey and conditions.

Additional charges may apply where the journey changes from the original
booking, additional stops are requested, waiting time is required, or
other circumstances result in additional services being provided.

5. Airport Transfers

Buntingford Taxis provides airport transportation services to and from
airports including Heathrow, Luton, Stansted and Gatwick.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate flight information where
requested.

Although we will make reasonable efforts to provide the service at the
agreed time, journey times can be affected by traffic, road closures,
weather, accidents, airport conditions and other circumstances outside
our control.

Passengers should allow sufficient time for airport check-in, security and
other airport procedures.

6. Pickup and Waiting Time

Customers should be ready at the agreed pickup location and time.

For airport pickups, waiting arrangements may depend on the airport,
flight information and the booking made.

Where a passenger is not available at the agreed pickup location, the
driver may attempt to contact the customer using the contact details
provided.

Additional waiting charges may apply where applicable.

If the customer cannot be contacted after a reasonable waiting period,
the journey may be treated as a no-show.

7. Delays

Buntingford Taxis will make reasonable efforts to operate journeys at the
agreed time. However, we cannot guarantee exact journey or arrival times
because road and traffic conditions are outside our control.

We are not responsible for losses or costs arising solely from delays
caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Customers travelling to airports should allow adequate additional time
for potential traffic and other delays.

8. Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or amend a booking, please contact Buntingford Taxis
as soon as possible.

Cancellations made with less than 5 hours’ notice may be subject to a
cancellation charge.

The applicable cancellation charge may depend on the type of journey,
vehicle allocation and circumstances of the cancellation.

For bookings scheduled between
23:00 and 04:00, customers should provide as much notice
as possible if they need to cancel or amend their booking.

Any cancellation or refund terms specifically provided to you at the time
of booking will take precedence over the general cancellation information
published on this website.

9. Flight Delays and Additional Charges

For airport transfer bookings, customers are responsible for providing
accurate flight details where requested. We may monitor the flight status
where this information is available to us.

If a flight is delayed by
more than 45 minutes, an additional waiting or delay
charge may apply.

The applicable additional charge will depend on the circumstances and the
waiting time required.

This policy applies particularly to airport pickups where the driver is
required to wait beyond the expected pickup time because of a flight
delay.

For flights scheduled to arrive between
23:00 and 04:00, additional charges may also apply where
extended waiting time or other additional service requirements are
incurred.

Customers should provide the correct flight number and arrival details
when making an airport transfer booking so that we can make reasonable
efforts to account for changes to the flight schedule.

Any applicable additional charges will be communicated to the customer
where reasonably possible.

10. No-Show Bookings

A booking may be considered a no-show where the passenger does not appear
at the agreed pickup location and cannot be contacted within a reasonable
waiting period.

Where a no-show occurs, the customer may be responsible for the applicable
fare or cancellation/no-show charge.

11. Passenger Responsibilities

Passengers are expected to:

  • Behave respectfully towards drivers and other passengers.
  • Follow reasonable instructions from the driver.
  • Wear seat belts where provided and required by law.
  • Avoid damaging the vehicle.
  • Not interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle.
  • Inform us in advance of any special requirements.
  • Ensure children travel using legally required child restraints where
    applicable.

The driver may refuse or terminate a journey where a passenger’s behaviour
creates a safety risk to the driver, passenger, vehicle or other road
users.

12. Luggage and Personal Belongings

Passengers must ensure that their luggage is suitable for the vehicle
booked.

Vehicle capacity may be limited by the number of passengers and amount or
size of luggage.

Customers should inform us before travelling if they have unusually large,
heavy or additional luggage.

Buntingford Taxis is not responsible for personal belongings left in a
vehicle unless responsibility is established under applicable law.

If you leave an item in a vehicle, please contact us as soon as possible.

13. Vehicle Type

The vehicle supplied may depend on passenger numbers, luggage
requirements, availability and the type of journey booked.

Vehicle images and descriptions displayed on the website are for general
information and may not always represent the exact vehicle provided.

14. Special Requirements

Please inform us when making your booking if you require additional
assistance, accessibility arrangements, child seats or other special
requirements.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests where possible,
subject to vehicle availability and applicable legal requirements.

15. Pets and Animals

Customers travelling with animals should notify Buntingford Taxis before
booking.

Animals may only be transported where permitted by applicable law and
where suitable arrangements can be made.

Assistance dogs will be accommodated in accordance with applicable legal
requirements.

16. Prohibited Behaviour

Passengers must not:

  • Carry illegal substances or prohibited items.
  • Smoke or vape where prohibited.
  • Damage or deliberately soil the vehicle.
  • Threaten, abuse or assault the driver or another passenger.
  • Consume food or drink where this is not permitted.
  • Behave in a manner that creates a safety risk.

Where serious misconduct or unsafe behaviour occurs, the driver may stop
the journey and require the passenger to leave the vehicle where it is
safe and lawful to do so.

17. Driver Authority and Safety

Our drivers are responsible for operating the vehicle safely and in
accordance with applicable road traffic and private-hire/taxi
requirements.

Drivers may make reasonable decisions regarding routes, stopping
locations and passenger safety.

A driver may decline to follow an unsafe or unlawful request.

21. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Buntingford Taxis will not be
responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable
control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where
doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be
excluded or limited.

We do not accept responsibility for indirect or consequential losses
except where required by applicable law.

22. Events Outside Our Control

We will not be liable for failure or delay in providing a service where
this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include:

  • Severe weather
  • Traffic congestion
  • Road closures
  • Accidents
  • Vehicle breakdowns
  • Police or emergency restrictions
  • Airport disruption
  • Industrial action
  • Natural disasters
